Call for Teaching Artists
Space One Eleven (SOE), a non-profit visual arts organization, is seeking professional artists to teach or assist art classes and camps. Applicants must:
Be professional and practicing artists
Have strong foundational skills
Commit to a week of camp
Have demonstrated knowledge in an art discipline

This is a paid teaching position for artists and assistants during Space One Eleven’s Summer Art Camps 2017. The CCA program is designed to serve children and youth from diverse backgrounds. SOE offers quality art education for young artists of Birmingham and its surrounding metropolitan areas. Classes are broken into age groups ranging from 2nd-12th grade. SOE’s art classes provide a real value that comes from having a diverse group of students creating and learning together. Its programs are available to young artists from all socio-economic backgrounds, thus forming a microcosm of the multicultural and economic diversity of the city in which we live.
Call for Art Class or Workshop Proposals
SOE is seeking proposals for adult art classes or workshops from professional artists. Classes will be held in SOE’s professional artist studios with access to a sink, kiln, pottery wheels, easels, printing press, and other studio equipment. The target class size is 10-15 people.
- Instructor name, email address, phone number, and availability (days of week and times)
- Title and description of proposed class or workshop
- Target level of student experience
- Curriculum outline
- List of supplies and resources needed
Please keep proposal requirements under two pages in 12pt. font.
SOE is open to any ideas you may have, please do not feel limited by resources or supplies. We accept up to three class proposals from the same artist. Qualified artists are invited to submit proposals along with a résumé, and 3-5 images of the artist’s artwork to firstname.lastname@example.org
