July 29, 2016: Space One Eleven’s (SOE) Annual Student and Teaching Artist Exhibition showcases the works of young artists who attended SOE’s 2016 summer art camps. Rising second through fifth graders worked with a variety of art mediums while learning about Alabama artists to coincide with the theme, “I’M AN ALABAMA ARTIST, TOO!” Students learned about influential Alabama artists while realizing they, too, are Alabama artists. Also on exhibit will be works created by rising sixth through twelfth grade students who created artwork during SOE’s specialized art camps. These specialized camps concentrated on clay sculpture, textile art, drawing and painting, screen printing, and portfolio development. Artworks by SOE teaching artists, all of whom are practicing artists, will be featured in the exhibition.
