July 25-29, 2022
Grades 6-12
Young artists learned the foundations of photography, such as composition and lighting, through a digital photography exploration walk. Students learned professional photography practices such as product photography and Photoshop. Along with the foundations and professional practice side of photography, participants also explored unique photographic processes in art such as image transfers, luma prints, and wheat pasting, looking to famous contemporary photographers for inspiration. Students brought digital cameras (cell phones work) and gained some knowledge of how to use a DSLR camera. This camp was taught by professional photographer Celestia Morgan. Morgan holds an MFA from the University of Alabama.
