Continuity, 35th Anniversary Exhibition III
For over 35 years I have made images of my wife that form an intimate visual diary of our relationship and our life together. Friends, lovers, confidantes, collaborators- a creative partnership in life. These images reflect my love, passion, desire and respect.
I created this montage portrait from our journey together photographing her in countless ways; for fashion, for fun, personal exploration, for work, nude and clothed, directed and spontaneous, indoors and outdoors, in the studio, in the privacy of our home, with and without our children.
It’s about my fascination with time. Exploring how we think about time and change. How I share the flow of time with the same woman who has fascinated me from our beginning. It’s not about a linear process of ageing. It’s about memory, our past, our present and our future. Every image is a singular event telling its own story.
Most of these photographs have never been seen until now. I am currently working on a series of montages with plans to create a book and show.
Then and now, past and present. This montage is a narrative comprised of many events of our extraordinary journey together through time. She is my model, my wife, my muse. And it continues today.
