In this eight week class students learned basic clay hand building, wheel throwing, and sculptural construction techniques. Over the course of eight weeks, students built on beginning skills into being able to use clay as a useful tool in their ability to create things they envisioned. The ability to explore all the different ways to create with clay allowed a broad range of skill sets to be spotlighted. Some took to the wheel, some enjoyed the whimsy and manipulation of small sculptures, some were interested in creating functional objects.
