Charles Collins

Relevance, 35th Anniversary Exhibition II

The three prints in this exhibit were all printed from the same collagraph plate. The color of the printing ink varied between prints. Afterward, images were painted directly onto the printed background image with transparent oil paints using walnut alkyd. The full edition includes six other images in addition to the three in the current exhibition.

Charles Collins studied art at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Georgia at the Cortona Italy campus. He participated in multiple exhibitions and group shows between 1981 and 2000. After completion of his PhD in Public Health he joined the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in 2000 and has not publicly exhibited his work in the past 20 years. However, he continued to paint and make prints.
