John Northrop

Relevance, 35th Anniversary Exhibition II

Modern civilization requires abundant energy. In Alabama, power remains concentrated and resistant to urgent changes necessary to pass forward a livable world.

John Northrop is a retired head of the Alabama School of Fine Arts and a former photojournalist. He is group leader for CCL-Birmingham, the local chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, a volunteer organization building political will to slow rapid, human-caused global warming and climate change.
