Continuity, 35th Anniversary Exhibition III
Through photography, I have focused on the things that make me feel the most seen and comforted: my family, my friends, and my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. Though I am not surrounded by these things all the time, it is calming to look for representations of them in a given environment. These photos explore the peculiarities of life in the urban neighborhoods I grew up in. Reflections of it appear everywhere I look, even when I’m least expecting. I encourage viewers to also find similar comforts in these photographs. After all, we are more alike than we are different.
