Interchange — Alabama/Texas is an exchange project between Space One Eleven (SOE) in Birmingham, Alabama and Project Row Houses (PRH) in Houston, Texas where the two organizations “put each in place of the other.”  In March 2013, SOE sent two artists to PRH to create site specific works.  The Houston artists then joined the Birmingham artists for an exhibition at SOE.

PRH is located in the Northern Third Ward, Houston’s oldest African-American community.  PRH and SOE share common missions.  They join together in exploring themes of tolerance, social justice, and the tearing down of geographic and racial barriers during Interchange and the 50th anniversary of Birmingham’s Civil Rights Movement.
