“Jim Braude is a doctor who is traveling the world since he retired, and he was in Japan and took pictures of a postcard from the devastation of the atomic bomb, and took a picture of the place today with the trees with green leaves and stuff like that. And he posted them on Facebook, and I was fascinated by them, and they seemed so relevant and had such a relationship to the show, I thought, ‘I’ll put them in.’ So I texted him and he said, ‘Sure.’ And he proceeded to forget that I’d asked him, because I sent him a copy of the invitation, and he goes, ‘My name’s on the invitation!’ He was so excited, because he’s not an artist, so he’s never been in a show.”
