Women with Their Work II: Reflections, 2018
Digital Flower, Magenta is a video piece made by manipulating video signal. The shape and frequency of the video signal is created and manipulated by using the Jones Roster Scanner and a Ross Synthesizer. The parameters of the work are based on making organic shapes found in nature with digital tools. This work was made during a Signal Culture Artist Residency in Owego, New York. Many thanks to Hank Rudolph, Signal Culture co-founder, for technical set-up and assistance.
Horizon Line 1 through 4 is a series of four videos about the landscape in Alfred, New York shot in 2011. The video footage is an ode to video artist Michael Snow, La Région Centrale (1971). Using a tripod to move the camera in ways the eye cannot see the landscape dances on the screen. In 2016, introduced to the Signal Culture Apps created in collaboration by Jason Bernagozzi and Eric Souther, these videos are regenerated with the App: Trace. Sound was manipulated with the video. Keeping in step with the previous videos, Horizon Line, Trace is a four-channel video. In this exhibition you see Trace 2 in the gallery.
